Operation
The Pilldisc uses stepper motors and optical sensors to individually index each blister pack. This allows the Pilldisc to keep track of the number of pills left in each blister pack.
Pill pressing carriage
Lead screw driven carriage brings the pressing assembly up and down to access pills from each level. A micro servo brings the anvil in and out to engage with each pill. When the pressing assembly is in position a high torque servo brings down an anvil to press out each pill. Due to the narrow spacing between each level, vibrating motors are used to assist each pill to the dispensing chute.
